Big Girl!!!

Today my mom and I worked with Emory on rolling over. We got out our new Tummy Play Bobby mat and worked with her on it. We started out with the Bobby pillow on the mat and Emory just didn't know what to think about that. She tried to raise her head but she just was more excited about licking the pillow than anything else. Then we took the pillow off of the mat and just let her lay there for a while and then my mom (Nana) started working with her about rolling over, well about the the 5th or 6th time she rolled over on her own!!! I couldn't believe it. I was so excited. She finally figured out on her own, after coaxing her to do it, she finally rolled over. She, here lately, really has started picking her head up off of my shoulder when she normally lays it to one side. Everytime now when I pick her up and lay her head on my shoulder she just picks it up and wants it straight up or laying on the other side. I just can't believe how fast she is starting to pick these things up. And I am amazed at how fast she is growing up. We have had fun with Nana these last couple of days. Tuesday we went to the ultrasound and the today we made our first visit to Wal-Mart, playing fashion show, and learning how to roll over!!! Thanks, Nana, for the fun times this week.

For some reason, today, Emory just absolutely hated her glasses. I think at one point in time today I heard her say "I hate these things!!" She would either push them up on top of her head or she would pull them down around her mouth. Once she got them down around her mouth, she would then proceed to start licking them. Needless to say they got very gunkey today. She normally doesn't seem to mind them, an occasional push or pull at them, but for the most part it is us, the family, that has a harder time of getting them to stay on, but she got a wild hair about them glasses today and she did not want any part of them. Nana got some really good pictures of her licking them and this is one of my favorites of her. She also likes to lick her hand just right below the thumb. I think if she could figure out how to suck the thumb she would be all for it.

It's A ..............

Today we went to find out what my sister is having. She was having an ultrasound done and she is having........ a BOY!!!!!! We are all very excited. Everything looks good. Her due date is September 18th. Emory went with us because she is very excited about a new cousin around. Here are some pictures from today.

Emory loves her Aunt Vickie and wishes her best with the rest of her pregnancy and can not wait for her new baby cousin to get here. I could tell Emory was excited, she was talking to during part of the ultrasound. She was trying to steal the spot light just a little bit (that's my girl!!!) !!

Daddy...... I loooovvvveeee you!!!!!

"Daddy, I am always asleep in the mornings after my breakfast so I usually don't get to see you leave but I feel your kisses on my cheek as you are leaving out the door. I wait all day so I can see you when you get home from work. I miss you so much. I just love it when you hold me and give me a big hug and a kiss. I also love those funny faces that you make trying to make me smile, they work everytime.!!!"

"I Love You Daddy!!!!"

I am also very excited to report that Emory tonight while I was holding her after the 9:00 feed, she started oohing and aahing and just talking away and I looked down at her while she was laying on my chest and she started to raise her head off of my chest!!! I was one proud Mama!!! I just can't believe how fast she is growing up. She is getting so big and I am so used to her being so small and not weighing very much; now when I hold her my arms are starting to get very tired. But I am so happy that she is growing up and starting to do those milestones!!!! Tomorrow we find out if we are having a boy cousin or a girl cousin (my sister, Vickie, is having a baby), Emory just can't wait to go to the ultrasound. Hopefully we will have pictures.

It's Easter!!!!

It's Easter and it is extremely cold compared to what it was the last couple of weeks. Emory was also 5 months old yesterday (April 7th)!!!! She has come so far from where she was when she was born. She has gotten so big!!! She is eating like a champ!! I can tell that she is gaining weight. Used to when I would hold Emory it did not feel like I was holding a baby, she did not weigh hardly anything, now she is weighing 9 pounds and I am starting to feel it. She is grinning some much more and more everyday. She looks so cute in her glasses and they are definetely making a difference. When I look at her and smile, she will smile back at me. It just warms my heart to know that she is starting to see the world around her. Daniel and I thank the Lord everyday for bringing Emory into our lives, we cannot image our lives with out her. She has made a big difference in our lives. We know that we have her for a very special reason and we might not know what the reason is but we are very thankful that God has given us her.

Here are some pictures of today before and after church.

Emory loves the Easter Bunny that Granny and Papa Keys got for her for Easter (as you can see in the pictures)!!

Emory also loves the bunny that Tommy, Kathy, Matthew, & Hannah Harrison got for her!!!

The Keys Family

Our family consists of me, Joanna, my husband, Daniel, and our daughter, Emory. Most of you that know us know that when Emory was born the doctors did not know exactly what was wrong with her. They knew something with her was not right. So Emory was flown to Arkansas Children's Hospital and was in the NICU for about 25 days. Emory is doing wonderful now. She is smiling and cooing and oohing and we have just have a ball with her. We just love her so much and can't imagine our lives with out her. She loves her bathtime (as you can see in her pictures)!! Emory is almost 9 pounds now and is about 19 inches long. She is growing like a weed now. Well hope y'all enjoy the pictures!!

Well this is our first post so hopefully next time we will have more.
