Long time, no blog....

Okay so I know it has been a month since I have updated my blog. I have no excuses. Things have been extremely busy here lately. I have recently took over our Drama team at our church and I have been working with some amazing kids. Also we started back up on our appointments to Children's Hospital again. Man that 2 month break was great, hard to get back into the routine. We had some really good reports this time. Our first appointment on was Monday Oct 8th and it was with orthopedic and they took some more x-rays of Emory and decided to go ahead with braces on her legs to help straighten them out a little bit more. She has done most of the work on her legs by just stretching them herself and kicking (what little she can kick her legs), but I have worked a little bit on stretching her legs but she has done most of the work. So we will be getting our new braces in about a couple of weeks. Tuesday Oct 9th we had seen our neurosurgeon to discuss some more about doing surgery on Emory's teethered spinal cord. He has finally decided that when we go back in 6 months to see him we will discuss a surgery date. Also on the 9th we had seen Dr. Lyle, which was one of the many dr.s that had seen Emory while she was in the NICU and I just love him. He is so good with Emory and always willing to listen to all of my many questions and trust me I have a ton of them when I see him.

Emory is gaining weight, she is a little of 10 pounds now and she has finally gotten to 21 inches. I just can't get over everytime we go that she is gaining weight and growing in length. I hold my breath everytime we have to get our measurements done because I am always afraid that she will be losing pounds instead of gaining them or holding steady and GOD pulls through everytime when we get the weight measurement. Emory is going to be a year old in 3 weeks!!! I just can't believe that a whole year has past since her birth. This whole year has flown by so fast and I have been truly blessed to watch our little girl grow from a 5lb 11oz. to 10lbs. I just can't imagine my life without her. She diffentely has changed me as a person.

Well anyways, here are some most recent pictures of the little girl...

I just love this picture of Emory. She is showing off her "monkey" face.

Pretty flower!!!!.... Do you taste as good as you look????....

Not really....

There are a few people that I would like for you to remember in your prayers... Ethan Powell, he is still fighting his battle with leukemia, Sydney Smith, who found out about a month ago that she has cancer started her treatments last week, and the Steece family, who live in Texas and just had quads about a 2 months ago, one of them, the girl Savannah, refluxed and stopped breathing and she had to be taking to the ER, but she is okay but please pray that there will not be any side effects from not breathing and that hopefully she will not have reflux for very long and that she will grow out of it very quickly.

Riley Makes it Home!!!

Riley and Vickie were discharged yesterday from the hospital. I know Vickie will feel more comfortable at home, she was not feeling to good up at the hospital. She was not comfortable in that hospital bed at all. She was excited about getting to put on her own clothes. Riley did really good on the way home and did not give us any trouble at all yesterday afternoon. Now I do not have any idea how their first night went with him but I am sure that they did good.

Such a sweet baby!

I just couldn't help my self from taking this picture. They are both laying the same way and both had their hands the same way. As soon as Riley got home yesterday we changed him into the outfit above and layed him down for a nap and then we feed Emory and she feel asleep for a short nap and I layed her down beside Riley and they just looked so cute together. My mom was so excited yesterday to have them both around her. She was in 7th heaven.

We had a little accident so we got changed into a new outfit.

Look at those cute little slippers! So Cute!

Emory woke up and started to play and Riley just slept through all of her playing and jabbering.

I just love this picture of Riley. He loves to sleep with his hands right at his face and his legs drawn up close to his belly. He really is a sweet baby!

Crazy Busy

So the last couple of weeks have been extremely busy around here. We have had a wedding and with the waiting arrival of our nephew, Riley, there hasn't been a whole lot of time to update. So Emory has turned 10 months old. She is starting to sit up with the aid of a Boppy pillow and we are still a little bit wobbly sitting up with that but we manage. Got some great photos of her sitting on the couch with the Boppy and with Daniel.

Also last week, we go Emory's glasses back from the eye doctors. Back in July, Dr. Lowery (Children's) decided that she didn't need the bifocal part of the lense anymore so he wrote her a new prescription along with some tint on a new pair if we wanted it for when we go outside. Well when I had gotten home that afternoon after Daniel had picked up the glasses, the glasses with the tint on them were so cute that I couldn't wait to try them on her. So the first chance I got to take her out with the sun a shining I put on the sunglasses and we made our way around town and our last stop she had fallen asleep in the car and was still asleep by the time I had gotten home to the camera and this is how I found her in the backseat in her carseat:

Also with all of the running around the last couple of weeks, I found Emory the other night on the couch with her hands in the air holding her burp cloth up in the air in a "I am finished!" look to it. I though that she looked so cute like that.

I just love this picture of Emory and me. We all had gone to Branson a couple of weekends ago to go to the Branson Cruise (For those of you who do not know what the Branson Cruise is, for a weekend in august all of the classic cars and fixed up cars all come together and they have a car show and then on Saturday night at midnight they close 76 down in Branson and all of the cars that had entered in get to to cruise the strip without any other vechiles. It is all lot of fun for those car buffs out there. Daniel sure loves going to it. I do too I just love to give him a hard time about it.) This picture was taking in our hotel room that we had gotten. Emory was just playing so I had gotten down with her and started playing and she would just grin and giggle.

That is her new favorite thing to do it to giggle and grin. She is always grinning and giggling. The other night I had feed her before we went to bed and she had fallen asleep on my chest and I layed her down on the couch beside me and then next thing I looked over at her and she had woke up and started giggling and grinning. I just love to here her giggle. She gets so excited and she will squeal.

We have started eating cereal last week. We started out on a Tuesday and she was somewhat okay with it, but by the the 5th or 6th spoon of it she was starting to get tired of it. Then we gave it to her on Thursday and she did not want to have anything to do with it. Fussed the whole time we were trying to feed her the cereal. Here are a couple of pictures from the first feeding of cereal.

Also Emory's hair is getting so long. We gave her a bath the other night and I combed her hair and I just couldn't get over how long her hair is getting. It is also getting more red in it, too.
Yes our daughter has a comb over. I just couldn't help myself when i was combing her hair, to come it over like that.
I don't know how well you can see her curls, but they are there. Just a little bit of one.

9 Months Old!

We are nine months old today!!! Emory is getting so big. She is now started to laugh at everything. The other night she would just laugh at every little thing she was doing, it was so cute. You can't help but just to laugh with her. Sometimes we will be watching her and she will be playing and the next thing you know she is just laughing and smiling away. She is still trying to cut a tooth. I just wish that it would poke on through. I think it is playing peek-a-boo with us. Sometimes we will see a white spot and then the next time you look it doesn't even look like there is anything. We will go and see Dr. Shrum on Thursday and we will have current weight and heighth measurements for you. I know she is getting taller and heavier all the time. At therapy today, Ms. Laura said that she just keeps on improving, everytime she sees her she says. That is such a blessing too because she is behind on some of the milestones, but it is such a blessing to see her come along with everything. Because I know before too long she will be up and running before Dan and I realize it and we will not be able to keep up with her.

Emory has a ticklish spot right under her chin and on her chest. We can tickle her right under the chin or right on the chest right around her underarms and she just grins and giggles. It is the sweetest thing you have ever heard. It melts my heart everytime we do that to her and she grins and giggles. I really can't imagine my life with out her. She has changed me completely. I love her dearly.

On Sunday, we had our Keys' Family Cookout for the birthday's in August (HAPPY BIRTHDAY COLIN!!!!!) and a small wedding shower for Jason and Brittany (who are getting married August 31st). Afterwards we went back over to Dan's mom and dad's house before we left to come home, I found Emory like this:

This is her surprise look.

Last week Madalyn was up here to stay with Dan's mom and dad for a week while her parents went to Florida. She had loads of fun helping Daphna keep Emory. She would help assist with the eatings and the diaper changes and help keep Emory entertained. Madalyn is going to have a baby brother in November and I hope that this last week with Emory really helped her in some ways, so her mom, Damitra, will get some help out of her when baby brother gets here. She really wanted a baby sister. Madalyn went with her mom and dad to see the ultrasound and the doctor turned to her and said that she was going to have a baby brother and she no I am going to have a baby sister. But I think now she is more up to the idea of having a baby brother. She just loves Emory. Everytime I see Madalyn with Emory, she just keep saying aww how cute and everytime Emory would get upset she would be like what's wrong Emory, what's wrong. I just love the picture of the two of them together up above. They both have this "What" face on them. Like oh no not another picture please. Madalyn's last night with Daphna and Jimmy, they needed to go to WalMart so we told them that they could leave Madalyn with us for a little while and Emory justed loved it. Emory would try and find her when Madalyn was talking. I just cannot get over everytime I see Madalyn how big she is getting. I remember they day she was born, or the night rather. She was just a tiny thing and now she is getting so big.
